CARLENE CARTER

PG-13

Carlene Carter has been performing music for almost four decades. The daughter of June Carter Cash and country star Carl Smith, and stepdaughter of Johnny Cash, she is the embodiment of the Carter Family in the 21st century.  As Ophira Eisenberg commented during an NPR interview, Carlene is "country music royalty."

Once again based in her hometown of Nashville, she continues to bring the Carter Family legacy to successive generations with “Carlene Carter’s Wonderful World of Women Who Write,” her ongoing Bluebird Café performance series, which has included collaborations with Lilly Hiatt, Elizabeth Cook, Lauren Morrow, Pam Tillis, Gretchen Peters, and Matraca Berg. She has recently spent time touring with John Mellencamp, and her latest album, Carter Girl, features a collection of Carter family songs as well as originals inspired by her family.

Come spend a classic country Valentine's Day with Carlene Carter.

You never know what's waiting on the journey in this enchanting and darkly funny twist on the Brothers Grimm. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. You may get your wish, but are you certain what you wish is what you want?
